Atlanta, GA – Early Morning Collision on I-20 West Near Panola Rd Tied to Stalled Vehicle with No Lights

Atlanta, GA (May 9, 2025) – An early morning crash on I-20 Westbound near Panola Road (Exit 71) was reportedly caused by a stalled vehicle that had no active hazard lights, according to updates from WSB-TV and Georgia Department of Transportation footage.

The incident occurred just before 5:00 a.m. when a westbound driver collided with the stalled vehicle, which had been sitting in the right lane without any visible warning lights. The driver of the moving vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Police arrived shortly after and cleared the stalled vehicle from the East Freeway.

The identity of the injured driver has not been released, and it is not yet clear whether the driver of the stalled vehicle remained at the scene or fled before law enforcement arrived.
